Rusty is all shinny and New

One day not so long ago Janice and I spent some time with a friend and new brother in Christ. Rusty and I spoke about things dear to his heart like his dad, his friends and his cats.
I watched Rusty’ s face while he was telling me stories as he faded in and out of sleep from the pain meds he is on. He asked why God was waiting so long to take him home. I was pressed hard at the question. Knowing Rusty is tired I told him the Lord is blessing him with precious time with everyone who loves him so they can witness his new life in Christ. I told him about his new mansion being prepared for him and how perfectly fitted it will be for him because he is God’s favorite, because he sent Jesus to be a sacrifice for him in order for him to be united with him for eternity.
I’m thankful the Holy Spirit filled both Rusty and I with hope and peace.
I realize God’s perfect plan for each one of us is first to intimately know his Fatherly love for us and to speak that same love through us, regardless of how much we do or don’t know. He is very capable and willing to communicate his love, we just need to be willing vessels. Rusty is willing.

Rest in peace tonight Rusty you are God’s highly favored son.
